As a child the smell of freshly made cakes often filled our house. My Scottish mother was the most wonderful baker. She taught me everything I know and I use many of her recipes. When I became a mum myself I started baking for my own family and friends. Gradually something I loved doing turned into a business.

Paradise cake (think bakewell tart with fruit & nuts) has always been a favourite amongst the men in my family. Has even converted hardened non cake lovers! The recipe was handed down from my Scottish Great Grandmother. Whenever I bake it I’m filled with joyful nostalgia, so it seemed the perfect name for the business. My great grandmother would have been thrilled!

Many of my regular customers are perfectly good bakers themselves, but busy lives mean they don't always have the time.  Having been a TV journalist I know how to meet your deadline and will usually only require a few days notice to fulfil your order.
